Our history

Stay Vertical is founded on the shoulders of an incredible woman, Aoife McNeal, who worked in the adult entertainment industry for 10 years before making her transition into teaching pole dance classes. After 5 years of teaching, she and her husband Andrew opened Stay Vertical (with just 3 poles!) which welcomed its first students through the door in 2015. Since then, the studio has grown and flourished into a 12-pole studio, with a range of pole sizes, materials and spinning settings, and a dedicated area to stretching and conditioning equipment.

Our classes

Beginner

Starting with basics and working our way up to inverting for the first time, this class teaches our students how to grip, climb and spin around the pole while building strength throughout the body working towards inverting.

£50 for 6 week course

Complete beginners welcome!

Improver

Building on our foundations, this class teaches students to do basic tricks up the pole and from low inverts, and start to work on headstands and handstands

£50 for 6 week course

Advanced Beginners and above only

Intermediate

In this class, students will learn how to strengthen their up-the-pole skills and higher inverts, and we will work on moving into trick combinations and exits - this level also introduces work with spinning poles

£75 for 8 week course

1hr 30mins per week

Pole gear only

Advanced Improvers and above only

Advanced

With strength up the pole established, students will learn to do more complex tricks such as handsprings, Ayeshas and drops with less supervision and more free time in each lesson - we will also be introducing doubles once COVID-19 regulations permit

£80 for 9 week course

2hours per week

Pole gear only / pole leggings

Advanced Intermediate and above only

Elite

The highest level the studio offers, in this level students will be fully comfortable with and capable of performing complex combinations, entrances, exits and flips on both static and spinning poles - past this level, students will have the opportunity to train for competitions

£90 for a 10 week course
